Behind the Business Curtain: A Nutcracker-Inspired Guide to Success
Today, I'm sharing a little backstage magic that struck me after my daughter's latest ballet performance of The Nutcracker. 💂🏼♀️
For the past decade, I've marveled at how seamlessly the Nutcracker comes together each year. This year, being the OBM that I am, my mind couldn't help but draw parallels between the art of the ballet production and the what happens behind the scenes when launching a product or service. 🩰✨
1. Planning and Preparation: Setting the Stage for Success
Just like planning a ballet production, launching a business endeavor begins with a vision. The director envisions a flawless show, just as you envision a successful launch. Setting dates, creating a (rehearsal) schedule, and having a plan B (with understudies) are crucial steps. Adaptability is key—just like in business. Embrace changes when needed, and remember, the best-laid plans sometimes need a pivot.
2. Marketing & Sales: Filling the Seats
The dance floor is set, but what's a show without an audience? Advertising the ballet and selling tickets are as vital as promoting your product or service. Engage your audience, create anticipation, and make them eager to witness the magic you're about to unleash.
3. The Cast and Crew: Your Team
In ballet, everyone has a role, and each role is vital to the success of the production. It's not just about the dancers on stage—there's a whole crew working behind the scenes to make them shine, the same is true in business.
A major role in the production is one the audience never sees…the Stage Manager, the person responsible for making sure dancers, sets, props, lights and sound are all working collectively together for the show.
Much like a stage manager, an online business manager facilitates communication across all team members in your business. Acting as the right-hand person to the director (you!), an OBM oversees the moving pieces—ensuring everything runs smoothly. They're your go-to person, calling the shots and making sure your business performance is nothing short of spectacular.
4. Audience Feedback: The Applause of Testimonials
Just as a ballet audience applauds for a mesmerizing performance, your customers will be singing praises for your product or service. Gather and showcase those testimonials! The positive feedback not only validates your hard work but also builds credibility and trust among potential customers.
In the grand finale of our peek behind the curtains of business , let me leave you with a question: What if you could have your own OBM side stage, ensuring your business performance is flawless and enchanting? 🎭✨
